Orchid
I went to the Sunken Gardens for an Orchid festival. I had no idea there were so many types of Orchids. I think this was my favorite, but I decided to play with layers and such.
About
I started drawing (realistically) before I was a teenager. My Aunt was an accomplished artist and taught me oil and acrylic medium painting. I could just see it and painted naturally, not knowing or understanding all the principles or dynamics of color. Once I became a teenager I quit until I was in college. When I would go hiking I always took pictures and said to myself that I would paint that scene some day. I’ve done a little bit of painting and felt that I lost my touch, but the art of photography has captured me and I still think that someday I’ll paint again…
